The 3rd AfriGEOSS Symposium was held in Libreville, Gabon, from 26–28 June 2018. Stakeholders and AfriGEOSS members convened under the theme: “Building smarter Earth observations to support sustainable development policies.”

• Training programmes for EO users and improved science communication for both EO specialists and policy communicators
• Community outreach to raise awareness on EO’s value and impact among citizens

• Data and information product delivery tailored for the African context using:

  • Cloud and smartphone applications
  • Affordable satellite communication
  • Offline delivery services
